To find therapy helpful, one must attend sessions regularly over an extended period of time, something that will require you to be feeling well enough to make such a commitment. Therapy is not suitable as a treatment alone for someone who is in need of urgent mental health care, and I do not offer treatment to people who are currently experiencing a mental health crisis. If you are in need of urgent care, please contact your local NHS crisis service here.

It is sometimes the case that a person's emotional distress is not symptomatic of a mental health difficulty but rather a response to harmful social conditions. Mental health treatment should not be sought as a substitute for proper social care. Please see these links if you suspect that your emotional distress is a consequence of domestic abuse, discrimination, financial hardship, poor housing or isolation/loneliness.

If you have not attended therapy before and suspect that something of how you are feeling could be improved by making lifestyle changes as opposed to attending therapy then you might be interested in attending one of a variety of mental health workshops hosted by Mind charity. You can search for your local Mind service here.

I am only able to offer treatment to individuals. If you are interested in attending therapy as a couple or family then please visit here.
